Welcome to the grand re-re-re-opening of Adam Konieska.com!
Originally, this site started out on an ASP server that sat in my closet during my junior year of high school. That was back in 2003, and things were great. The server ran awesomely, the code was stable, and my mom even had it book marked on her bookmarks toolbar.
Those were the days.
Then came the great server crash of 2010. The physical box I was hosting everything on went ka-put, and I was running out of time to maintain and fix things. Right around the same time, Web 2.0 was kicking into gear, HTML5 was starting to take off, and things around here were generally getting stale.
So everything was torn down, re-branded, updated, and re-done. This time, PHP was used as the back end and hosting was moved out of my closet and into the real internet. (I still had more uptime than Go-Daddy, but who's counting?)
And then, things were generally pretty good again, except I had a mountain of data in the form of blog posts that needed to be migrated, formatted, and checked. Everything was ready, but nothing was live.
Which brings me to my point. The product was ready, so get it in front of the users. Instead I just left it on the back burner and didn't do anything with it. The first principle of Agile Software Development is "Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software."
Here we are today, with the grand re-re-re-opening! Keeping Agile in mind, I hope I'm satisfying you, the customer, through an early delivery of valuable software. Look forward to further satisfaction through continued deliveries of more software. Enjoy!
