Sometimes life is hard, I guess. Managing stress is hard. I read a book recently that really helped with that, Reconciliation: Healing the Inner Child.
The book had some good tips on how to react to adversity, starting by noticing it, managing through it, and overcoming it. I'm not sure how much Buddhism I subscribe to, but some of the best tips were simple breathing exercises. Typically deep breathing, combined with thinking a positive phrase.
"Breathing in, I know that sorrow has manifested in me. Hello, my sorrow. Breathing out, I will take good care of you."Thich Nhat Hanh
Its a simple thing, breathing, but I found it really helped me deal with stress.
